Congratulations to Annabelle Riggs of VYBA on her successful completion of US Sailing’s Level 1 SBI training and being the FIRST recipient of FSA’s Training Reimbursement Grant initiative.

In an effort to support training development among its member organizations, FSA leadership implemented the Training Reimbursement Grant program in 2018. This initiative, along with its Youth Regatta Reimbursement Grant program, set the Florida Sailing Association apart from many other Regional Sailing Associations. Organizations in good standing (current membership) in FSA can encourage families in their Junior Programs to submit requests for regatta fee reimbursement in two simple steps: (1) submit a request using the FSA Application form, and (2) send regatta results to complete the process. Families may be reimbursed up to $100 per child per year to help offset costs associated with competitive sailing.

The Training Grant program follows similar procedures: (1) submit a completed application prior to the training, and (2) email the candidate’s training results to FSA. Training Grant recipients may be reimbursed up to $300 for the training.
